Some metro stations to close down at 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve

NEW DELHI: Entry into and exit out of Rajiv Chowk, Barakhamba Road and Mandi House stations of the Delhi Metro railway will be closed from 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve, December 31, in view of security restrictions in the area.

Sale of tickets at these metro stations will stop at 8-45 p.m. and shutters of all entry gates will be closed at 9 p.m. However, interchange facility between Line-2 (Huda City Centre – Jehangirpuri) and Line-3 (Dwarka Sector-21 – Noida City Centre) will remain operational at Rajiv Chowk metro station till the end of normal service hours -- 11 p.m.

All trains operating on Line 3 (Dwarka Sector 21 – Noida City Centre) will not stop at Barakhamba Road and Mandi House metro stations after 9 p.m. Otherwise services on this corridor will remain normal. Services at all other metro corridors and stations will continue normally.

However, no tokens for Rajiv Chowk, Barakhamba Road and Mandi House stations will be issued at Rithala after 7-50 p.m., Dilshad Garden after 8-05 p.m., Jehangirpuri after 8 p.m., Huda City Centre after 7-30 p.m., Dwarka Sector 21 after 7-40 p.m., Anand Vihar ISBT after 8-15 p.m., Noida City Centre after 8-05 p.m., Mundka after 7-25 p.m. and Sarita Vihar after 7-50 p.m.

Passengers at all other stations have been requested to contact the station staff before purchasing tokens for Rajiv Chowk, Barakhamba Road and Mandi House stations. Alternatively, they can also contact DMRC helpline at 011-128128.

From January 1, the DMRC's new helpline number will be 155370.
