Kingfisher and Indian Airlines flights from Shimla and Kullu to Delhi were cancelled due to thick fog while the Upper Shimla region was cut off as the Hindustan-Tibet National Highway was blocked at Kufri and Narkanda due to heavy snow.

State capital Shimla had intermittent heavy rain accompanied by sleet and thick fog which engulfed the region bringing the day temperature down to 5.1 degrees Celsius.
