Staff Reporter

MP Chinta Mohan wants the State to give its nod for the proposal

NELLORE: The Czech Republic has evinced interest in building a modular airport in this ever-growing town, according to Congress MP from Tirupati, Chinta Mohan.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, the MP, who had taken up the matter with External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna and Minister of State for Civil Aviation Praful Patel, wanted the State government to give its nod for the proposal.

“There is an urgent need for setting up an airport at Nellore, which has only a sea port, at a time when the districts of Chittoor, Kadapa and Anantapur had the facility”, he added.

A team of officials from the Czech Republic would come soon to Hyderabad for holding negotiations with Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, he added.
