Snowfall in higher reaches of Uttarakhand

Dehra Dun: Heavy snowfall lashed the higher reaches of the Himalayas on Thursday, while the lower and plain areas experienced light and moderate showers, bringing in a chill across the State. The areas which received heavy snowfall included Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri, Auli, Nandadevi and Munsyari.

The weatherman has predicted heavy snow in the upper areas at a height of 9,000 feet and above during the next 36 hours, while lower areas are expected to receive moderate rain.

Snowfall and rains has brought down the day's temperature, with Dehra Dun recording 16 degree Celsius, 2 notches below normal.- PTI
