TIRUPATI: The students of Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV) had the rare opportunity of interacting with a Hollywood writer. Brent Carpenter, writer and director of Food Chain Films in Portland (Oregon), who has produced 300 TV commercials, corporate videos, web content and music videos, recently addressed the students pursuing Media Management course in the women's varsity and gave tips to them on functioning effectively in the field of film making, which has witnessed a drastic change, thanks to the globalisation of the media. Speaking on doing one's job passionately, Mr. Carpenter said that films in Hollywood were made from consumer's point of view, while special documentaries aired on television channels indeed were able to make a great influence in tackling real problems of the society. The inquisitive students queried him on various aspects like American family values, impact of Hollywood films etc.
