Jagjit Singh captivates audience

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: While many Bangaloreans brought in the New Year at parties, music enthusiasts in the city attended a concert by ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh.

Organised by Punaruthana, an NGO which has launched a campaign, ‘Save Earth to Save Yourself', the concert was held at Gayatri Vihar at Palace Grounds here on Friday.

The maestro transported the audience into a world of love, loss, grief and pain.

He began with a bhajan and then moved on to popular hits such as Zindagi kya cheez hain and Hothon se choo lo tum.

Spellbound

The spellbound audience even joined in as he sang other songs, including Kal chaudhvin ki raat thi, Hazaron khwahishen aisi, Koyi fariyaad and Main nashe mein hoon.
