SRIKAKULAM: Vasavi Clubs International decided to reach ‘1000 clubs' mark by end of 2011, thanks to overwhelming response from the Vasavians from the nook and corner of the country, according to its representatives. Vasavi Vanita Clubs' number is expected to reach 250 from existing 140 in the New Year. Vasavi Clubs International president Agiri Venkatesh and Past President AVSN Gupta said many people were keen to participate in the social service activities through Vasavi Clubs. They inaugurated five new Vasavi Vanita Clubs in Srikakulam, Paravada, Vempadu, Narsipatnam Adduroad and Kotturu of Visakhapatnam on Saturday. While speaking in Srikakulam, Mr.Gupta asked Vasavians to participate in social service actively in the Year-2011. Vasavi International-V201A District Governor Perla Mahesh and Srikakulam Vanita Club new President Yasoda told Mr. Gupta that many new members were keen to donate money for the welfare of poor students. Vasavi Club representatives presented mementos to the members who donated Rs.2, 500 each for the Kalvakuntla Chandrasen Gupta Foundation which provides financial support to the poor students to pursue higher studies.
