Delhi Metro launches safety awareness week

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation began a safety awareness week for passengers from Saturday.

During the seven-day programme, commuters will be guided on how to have a safe ride while using escalators and elevators at Delhi Metro stations. At present 368 elevators and 432 escalators have been installed at metro stations, said a DMRC spokesperson.

The DMRC is keen to generate greater awareness and has taken to distribution of information material to the commuters with help from station staff and 80 volunteers of Scouts and Guides who have been deputed at the stations.
