Sirsi records 65.23 p.c. turnout

SIRSI: Sirsi taluk has registered 65.23 per cent of voting in taluk panchayat and zilla panchayat elections held on Friday. Highest voting of 83.33 per cent was recorded in Vanalli Muski and lowest in Bommanalli 34 per cent. In eight polling stations in Bhairumbe Gram Panchayat voting per cent is only 43 per cent compared to other 27 gram panchayats of the taluk. Most of the elderly voters said they were disgusted with the increase in corruption among the leaders of all political parties.

Mundgod taluk has registered 72.86 per cent voting and highest voting of 89.72 per cent in Uttara kannada district was recorded in the polling booth No. 33 of the taluk. Lowest voting of 0.88 per cent was recorded in booth no. 27 in Karwar taluk.

Siddapur taluk has recorded 68.74 per cent voting where as Yellapur recorded 69.41 per cent voting on Sunday.
