Farmer murdered in Pudukottai

PUDUKOTTAI: A 45-year old farmer was allegedly murdered by M. Ganesan (25) at Sembattanpatti village near Udaiyalipatti in the early hours of Sunday. Police said the farmer protested Ganesan's plan to marry his daughter.

Irked by this, Ganesan, said to be an electrician, reportedly electrocuted the victim by connecting an iron rod to his body from a live overhead power line when he was fast asleep.

The Udaiyalipatti police have registered a case and are on the search for Ganesan.
