HYDERABAD: APCO will serve as the nodal agency for supply of school uniforms to students of the government schools in the State, said Handlooms and Textiles Minister P. Shankar Rao here on Monday.
Addressing media persons, he said that part of funds under the Rajiv Vidya Mission would be diverted for providing uniforms to government school students through APCO, he said.
Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy agreed in principle for allocation of funds for uniforms and the School Education Minister Sailajanath would firm up the proposal, he said.
Mr. Shankar Rao said Chief Minister also agreed to the suggestion that handloom artisans and local tailors be entrusted with stitching of uniforms.
