SALEM: Seminars, rallies, workshops and other awareness programmes marked the Road Safety Week celebrations here on Tuesday.

Police Commissioner Sunilkumar Singh flagged off a rally organised by Salem Division of Tamil Nadu Road Transport Corporation in which employees and others took part.

The participants of the rally created awareness on road safety among four-wheeler drivers. The importance of maintaining a vehicle to avert accidents was stressed by them.

Auto rickshaws and other transport vehicles were asked to avoid overloading. Handbills highlighting road safety were distributed.
