Firm stand: Advocates staging dharna in front of the District and Sessions Court in Guntur on Tuesday. Guntur: On the 100th day of their agitation on Tuesday for establishment of a High Court Bench, advocates served a reminder to the Government and insisted that their demand be conceded without it being once again linkedwith any other tricky issue. More than a hundred advocates, led by Guntur Bar Association president and JAC convener D Samuel John, staged a protest demonstration and hunger strike in front of the District and Sessions Court. They opined the Government could now take a policy decision on constituting the HC Bench between Guntur and Vijayawada as the much - feared December 31, 2010 has gone by without causing a major law and order problem as anticipated. There were no more big constraints at this stage and any further delay in constituting a Bench would permanently harm the interests of the litigant public, they observed. Mr. John said the Government was not opposed to the idea of setting up HC Benches and it was given enough time to ponder over the issue. He expected a positive response soon having organised the agitation in a peaceful manner for so long.
