ART-INSPIRED TRIUMPH: Winners in the district-level contest organised by Jawahar Bal Bhavan in Pudukottai on Sunday.

PUDUKOTTAI: For the students of Jawahar Bal Bhavan, the state-level training camp organised here on various forms of fine arts has helped them understand the nuances of art and culture. Although the students have been practising these courses at their home towns, the sessions by resource persons widened the scope for understanding the components of fine arts through simple means.

At the end of the nine-day winter camp on Sunday organised by Jawahar Bal Bhavan and the Department of Arts and Culture, the students returned to their home towns with determination to learn more about fine arts, say the resource-persons.

In all 87 students, including girls, from eight regions of Chennai, Salem, Tuticorin, Sivagangai, Pudukottai, Tiruvarur, Kancheepuram and Ramanathapuram underwent the training on painting, folk dance, Bharathanatyam and vocal sessions.

“The training helped students understand more about the art of their interest ,” say S. Ragavendran and G. Saravanan – the resource persons. Krishnaveni, S.R. Kalyani and Meenakshisundari handled sessions on Bharathanatyam, folk dance and vocal.
