TN men in lead

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Tamil Nadu men with 57 points were in the lead, followed by Uttar Pradesh and Kerala with 43 points each, at the end of the penultimate day of the Junior National powerlifting championships here on Wednesday.

The results: Men: 75kg: 1. B. Raj (WB, 705kg), 2. R. Shanmugham (TN), 3. Yuganthar (AP); 82.5kg: 1. Pradeep Kumar (UP, 760kg), 2. D. Hariprasad (AP), 3. M. Gopi (TN); 90kg: 1. Sandeep Sing (Utchl, 745kg), 2. Manish Khan (Utchl), 3. Raghavendra Rao (AP).

Women: 44kg: 1. Lakshmi Sahu (Chts, 267.5kg), 2. Ankitha Ashok (Mah), 3. K.B. Sumitra (Ker); 48kg: 1. D. Kusuma (AP, 345kg), 2. Sandhya Uravashi (Chts), 3. Rajalakshmi Singh (Jhkr); 52kg: 1.
