HYDERABAD: For the last four days, commuters on the HP Gas Godown-Yousufguda road no longer were bothered by the crater-like potholes on the stretch. The road, today is smoother, thanks to the hasty patch up works taken up by GHMC. After The Hindu highlighted the pathetic condition of the road on Sunday, the GHMC has carried out the patch work and the road has now been cleared for the free flow of traffic. A statement from the office of the executive engineer, Khairatabad division blamed the bad patch on road cutting work by HMWSSB and water stagnation. Although the potholes have been taken care of, residents are not gratified. They said the “quick fix measure” will not take care of the problem for long and it is only a matter of days before its condition is back to worse. They pointed out that flow of water from the uphill area continues and it still stagnates at the spot, especially during night time.
