This Day That Age
A conference of parents and teachers held on January 6 at the Central Institute of Culture, Triplicane, Madras, expressed concern at the unusually large percentage of failures in the S.S.L.C. Examination in October last. Mr. Arcot Duraiswami, who presided, said that many parents were dissatisfied by the fact that in many places blocks of as many as 110 numbers in consecutive order had been declared failed. He urged that the authorities should issue a statement indicating the causes for such large-scale failures. Several parents and teachers addressed the gathering.
