Commotion at railway station
Coimbatore: The delay in the arrival of the rakes and engine of the Coimbatore – Chennai weekly special train led to commotion and agitation by the passengers at the Coimbatore Railway Junction.
According to railway sources, the train scheduled to leave at 11.30 p.m. could not be operated because the rakes and engine arrived only after 10 p.m. After carrying out the maintenance of the engine and rakes, the train would depart at 3 a.m.
Officials said that maintenance was a must before a long run. The delay was publicised through the local media in the evening, they added.
