Paying tributes to the 31 people who died in the accident near Nanjangud on December 14, 2010, the members demanded erecting barricades near rivers, lakes and sharp curves to prevent road accidents.

In Council

The Legislative Council members paid tributes to the eminent persons who passed away.

Minister for Medical Education and Muzrai V.S. Acharya, who is also Leader of the House, said the State had lost a statesman in the death of Rajasekhara Murthy.

Paying tributes to Gavai, Dr. Acharya said the musician wrote 40 books in four languages and was honoured with Padma Bhushan, Rajyotsava and Tulasi Samman awards.

In what could be considered a lapse on the part of the legislature secretariat, the former Anglo-Indian nominated MLA Ivan Nigli regretted that both the Houses forgot to mourn the death of Joss Fernandes, who was an MLA and MP.
