Panchayat chief done to death

VILLUPURAM: Brahmadesam panchayat president and AIADMK activist R. Prakash (45) was murdered by some unidentified persons near Tindivanam on Friday.

Political rivalry

Police sources said that when Prakash was going on a motorcycle towards Tindivanam, the assailants, who came on a two-wheeler, blocked his way and took him to the Perumukkal lake where they killed him.

The sources said that political rivalry could have been the motive behind the murder.
