MANGALORE: How do you deal with a person who humiliates you in public? If you ask singer, Puttur Narasimha Nayak, he will probably quote Kanakadasa's verses.

Bringing one such profound dasara pada from the rarely heard compositions to the fore, the celebrated singer treated the gathering at Kadri Park on Saturday to an excellent rendering of Hariye jnana bhakthi kodo as part of the Karavali Utsav. Guitarist Sharath Haleyangadi provided relief with fast-paced improvisations. The other accompanists were Satya Vijaya Bhat and Dinesh Shenoy on the tabla, Narendra L.Nayak on the harmonium and Srikanth Pai on the Manjari ensured that the programme was power packed.

Earlier, child prodigy Akash Bengaluru presented a Hindustani flute recital.
