Telangana Congressmen greet Moily with ‘Gandhigiri'

HYDERABAD: Seeking expeditious steps to accord to statehood to Telangana, leaders of Telangana Congress Monitoring Group leaders led by Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar held a ‘Gandhian' type demonstration in front of Union Law Minister and AICC in-charge AP Affairs, M.Veerappa Moily and handed him flowers at the Lake View Guest House here on Tuesday.

Each of the leaders including G. Niranjan handed flowers and raised slogans seeking statehood for Telangana. Mr.Bhaskar later presented a memorandum to Mr. Moily on the issue.

Later talking to reporters, Mr. Bhaskar said the TCMG would demonstrate with roses in front of AICC functionaries and Union Ministers whenever they visit Hyderabad.

By January 26, the TCMG would write to all members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to extend support their cause. Similarly, requests would also be sent to presidents of recognised national and regional parties seeking support for creation of Telangana State.

He said that Mr. Niranjan and other leaders also met Union Minister for Urban Development S.Jaipal Reddy and briefed him on the ground realities.
