MANGALORE: Five children were felicitated at the Udayavani Good Deed Award-presentation ceremony in Manipal on Monday.
They are Maneesh from NSAM English Medium High School, Nitte; Aniruddha Kamath from Sharada Vidyalaya, Mangalore; Ashell Theresa D'souza from St. Aloysius High School, Mangalore; Shivaani Rao from Vidyodaya Public School, Udupi, and Vaishnavi Shenoy from Shrimath Bhuvanendra High School, Karkala.
The attitude of doing good deeds should be encouraged among the people. It should be inculcated in children, said H.S. Ballal, Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University. G.K. Prabhu, Chancellor of Manipal University, said: “Children always do good work. They learn bad things only when they grow up. So they remember their elementary school teachers but not their college lecturers.”
Gautham Pai, Executive Director of Manipal Media Network Limited, said rewarding good deeds of children would pave the way for prominence of positive news in the media.
