Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: The Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) is working on an India-specific framework to regulate the quality of pharmaceutical dispensing practices and improve safety aspects.
Addressing a press conference, IPA's host committee chairman B. Suresh said the 71st World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences 2011 scheduled here this September, would explore problems of quality and safety with the use of medicines and the consequences of poor quality on clinical outcome and costs. He said the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), the umbrella organisation of scientists and pharmacists was involved in putting together white papers on issues requiring global attention.
Tom Hoek, Secretary-General, FIP, said the conference, that would be held between September 2 and 8, 2011, would attract at least 3,000 delegates from 100 of the 124 countries that had associations affiliated to FIP.
