Court to decide on parking lot

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: After the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd., it is now the State Government's turn to seek a piece of Cubbon Park.

If Namma Metro wanted the land in the prime lung space for a temporary road, the State wants the land to construct a parking lot by felling more than 30 trees.

The State Government had filed an application before the Karnataka High Court seeking its nod for taking up the multi-level parking complex slated to come up on land adjoining the Legislators House (LH) annexe. The State has to seek court's permission because it has banned any fresh work in Cubbon Park without its say-so.
