Vijay posts win Wild card Vijay Kannan toppled third seed Lakshit Sood of U.P. 6-2, 6-7(5), 6-3 in the men's encounter in the Enerzal Open senior National ranking tennis tournament at the Tennis Excellence courts here on Wednesday. There was upsets galore in the women's singles second round too as top seed Sheethal Goutham, second- seeded Prarthana Pratap and fifth seed Prerna Pratap fell by the wayside to little known players. Isha Lakhani accounted for Sheethal while Archana Venkatraman downed Prarthana. However former Davis Cupper and National champion Vijay Kannan displayed tough nerves and crafty game to tame UP's Lakshit Sood in three games at 6-2, 6-7(5), 6-3. Second-seeded Mithun Murali, also from Tamil Nadu, survived some anxious moments against Karnataka's Vishnu Arvind before eking out a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win to advance into the quarterfinals.
