DAVANGERE: Inspector-General of Police (Eastern Range) H.N. Satyanarayana Rao has instructed all police officials to ensure that a parade is organised twice a week at every police station.

Inaugurating the Davangere district police sports meet here on Thursday, Mr. Rao said it was mandatory to hold a parade every Monday and Tuesday, irrespective of the strength of the station. “I doubt whether all sub-inspectors and inspectors are aware of this,” he said.

The parade was a time-tested activity for policemen to keep fit and stay alert, which would help them on the job, he said.

He warned of disciplinary action if any police station was found ignoring the rules.

Mr. Rao urged policemen to involve themselves in sports and stay healthy.
