Double for Harshith
VIJAYAWADA: City player Harshith Jain completed a double by winning both the under-16 singles and doubles titles in the AITA Talent Series tennis championship, here on Friday.
Harshith defeated Srijitesh Swamy 7-6(3), 6-1 in the singles final and earlier, partnering Kalyan Babu, beat the pair of M. Rohit and Sk. Suleman 6-2, 6-1 to clinch the doubles honours.
In the under-16 girls' final, B. Amrutha scored a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Sk. Amreen and Srijitesh lifted the under-14 boys' title by defeating Numan Hyder 6-4, 6-4.
The results (all finals):
Boys singles: U-16: Harshith Jain bt Srijitesh Swamy 7-6(3), 6-1.
U-14: Srijitesh bt Numan Hyder 6-4, 6-4.
Girls: U-16: B. Amrutha bt Sk. Amreen 6-1, 6-3 .
