The winners:SRM University's men's team and Anna University's women's team pose with their trophies. CHENNAI: SRM University and Anna University — both Chennai teams — clinched the men's and women's titles respectively in the all-India inter-university ball badminton tournament at SRM University (Kattankulathur) near here on Friday. While Anna University women's team maintained a clean slate, winning all its three matches in the semifinal league to emerge a deserving winner, SRM University was involved in a two-way tie in the men's section with Anna University. As SRM and Anna University finished with two wins each (six points each), SRM was declared winner on the basis of better points ratio (63-39). SRM University Pro-Chancellor M. Ravi gave away the prizes. The results (semifinal league): Men: SRM bt Anna 29-21, 29-11; Annamalai bt Mangalore 29-24, 21-29, 29-18; SRM bt Mangalore 29-16, 29-18; Anna bt Annamalai 29-16, 29-28; Anna bt Mangalore 29-25, 29-17; Annamalai bt SRM 29-24, 29-24. Kishore shines Kishore bagged three wickets for six runs to help MCCHSS to a 78-run win over St Mary's MHSS in a match in the Vel's- TSN T20 rolling trophy cricket tournament here on Friday. The scores: MCC HSS 198 for four in 20 overs (M. Raghul 68, P. Arun 33, N. Binoy Patel 33) bt St. Mary's MHSS, Perambur 120 in 14.5 overs (Kishore three for 6). Chandra Sekar 36 not out). Badminton tournament The Friends Sports Club is organising a day-long Pongal shuttle badminton tournament at the Ambattur indoor stadium on January 23.
