Consumer body's plea

TIRUCHI: South Indian Consumer Protection Association has urged the Railways to take steps for operating a day-time train in the Tiruchi-Bangalore section with immediate effect.

At present, the Mayiladuthurai-Mysore Express is the lone train operated between Tiruchi and Bangalore and this train is always overcrowded.

A day-time train is the need of the hour and this will immensely benefit the people of both the states. A resolution adopted at the executive committee meeting of the association held here recently said. Parking lots

Another resolution called upon the Corporation to take steps for setting up parking lots in Yaanaikulam and in the choultry premises near Arunachalam mandram.

The State government should come forward to implement the project of setting up an integrated bus stand in the city before the announcement of the Assembly election schedule, another resolution said. M.Muthusamy, executive president of the association, presided .
