Bull race held in village near Tiruvannamalai

TIRUVANNAMALAI: A bull race festival celebrated in Adamangalam Pudur, an interior village of Tiruvannamalai district added colour to Pongal festival and enthralled thousands of villagers of the region.
The four-day event organised in view of Pongal for the 89 th year in succession culminated in ‘Kanum Pongal' on Monday. Thousands of people from surrounding villages and urban areas gathered at Adamanagalam Pudur to witness the colourful and adventurous event. Brisk and sturdy bulls were brought to the theatre of the event on Main Street, well decorated. Especially their horns were adorned with new clothes, saris etc.
Pazhani, a farmer of the village, said the festival is being celebrated in a grand manner for nearly nine decades.
