One held for ‘duping' foreign nationals

Anantapur: Police arrested one Pallapu Chenna Krishna for duping two foreign nationals in Puttaparthy town on Monday.
According to Puttaparthy police, the accused, Cheena Krishna, by feigning to represent a courier firm named, Local Couriers and Cargo Company, collected nearly Rs.5 lakh from the two foreign nationals from Iran - Sarah and Padma, promising to courier gifts to Baba.
The accused took the money promising to buy clothing and a gold comb apart from other cosmetic articles to Baba. The accused when asked by the devotees said that he had already sent the gifts to Baba and that he must have received the gifts.
However, the devotees, who grew suspicious, approached the police and the accused confessed to the police of his fraud.
The police arrested the accused and are investigating.
