Youth's murder: two more held
Staff Reporter
Kasaragod: The police on Sunday arrested two persons in connection with the murder of a youth, Rishad, 25, at Choori near here last Sunday night.
A police team led by DySP P. Vikram and Circle Inspector P. Balakrishnan Nair arrested Kiran Kumar, 32, and Parosh, 22, from Kudlu near here.
The police suspect them to be the prime accused in the case. The incident triggered tension in the town and nearby localities. The United Democratic Front called a hartal in the town and nearby areas crippling normal life next day.
Altogether, the police had made four arrests in connection with the case.
The police recovered a knife said to be used for murdering the youth from a drain near a paddy field. The arrested were produced before a court here which remanded them in judicial custody for 14 days. The attack on Rishad, while he was moving on a motorbike on December 9, was a sequel to recent attacks by rival groups in nearby localities, a senior police official said.
