AILC meet on Saturday

Staff Reporter

Kozhikode: The All India Left Coordination (AILC) will organise a State-level convention here on January 22.

Mangat Ram Pasla, former Central Committee member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), will inaugurate the convention, which will be attended by leaders of CPI-ML (Liberation), Communist Party of India-Punjab, Lal Nishan Leninist Party (Leninist) and the Idathupaksha Ekopana Samiti (Left Coordination Council).

At a press conference here on Monday, president of Idathupaksha Ekopana Samiti T.P. Chandrashekharan and State secretary R.P. Azad said that the convention would chalk out a detailed action plan for undertaking a mass campaign across the country against the pro-globalisation stance of leading political parties. The cooperation of all like-minded organisations would be sought in to draw public attention to the issue, they said.

Leading political parties like the Congress, CPI(M) and the CPI had emerged as proponents of globalisation forgetting their role to resist the trend in the public interest. “The tainted stance of these organisations will be exposed for public discussion in the meet,” they said.

The Samiti leaders said around 1,000 representatives from various parts of the State would attend the convention. The AILC would also organise a similar State meet in Tamil Nadu on January 25.
