Image of the man who stole money from ATM centre at Dhobighat in Saidabad, released by the police. HYDERABAD: A thief struck at an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) centre of the State Bank of Hyderabad at Dhobighat in Saidabad on Sunday night and escaped with Rs. 20 lakh. According to police, the ATM centre with two machines was located adjacent to the bank. Wearing a cap, the intruder entered the centre around 12.25 a.m. on Saturday and opened its outer door with a screw driver. Mistake The inner door actually has an electronic lock facility which opens after entering the password. The bank officials, who deposited cash, failed to lock it properly. This enabled the intruder to open the machine effortlessly with the screw driver and make away with cash, police said. Though the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, it came to light on Sunday night. With Sunday being a holiday, no bank staff came to the centre. Though some customers entered the ATM and withdrew cash, they used the second machine. The intruder's act was caught in the surveillance cameras installed in the ATM centre. Police officials on Monday released the intruder's photographs and requested the general public to alert them (040-27854784) if they found him.
