NAGAPATTINAM: Tamil Nadu Minorities Economic Development Corporation has proposed to conduct computer skill training programmes for minorities in the State. Over 10,500 women and men from minority communities (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists and Parsis) will be provided with the training, which includes courses in hardware and networking for 5,148 persons; MS Office with C, C++ to 2,198 persons; and MS Office with Tally to 3,253 persons. The training will be imparted through CSC Computer Education Private Limited, Jayaram Infotech Private Limited, Students Software Training Institute Private Limited, and Hindustan Software Private Limited. A Refrigeration and air-conditioning training has been proposed to be imparted to 115 people in Chennai . Minorities, who have appeared for X standard examination (pass or fail) are eligible to apply for the programmes. Eligible candidates may apply to the Tamil Nadu Minorities Economic Development Corporation, 807, Anna Salai, 5th floor, Chennai 600 002, either through post, in person or through its website www.tamco.in, and will be considered on a first come first serve basis. Applicants should state the name of the institute and place of training on the application form in bold/capital letters. Applications may be procured from the office of the Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Department (Tel-04365-251562).
