ERODE: Members of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Retired Employees Welfare Association staged a dharna here on Tuesday in protest against the implementation of the new pension scheme. The new scheme would affect the employees of the board, which has now become a company with two subsidiaries, members claimed and urged the government to continue with the old pension scheme. Stock market They said they would opposed any move to invest the pension and other contributions from the employees in the stock market. Any such move would severely affect the welfare of employees in the long run, they claimed. They would oppose any steps to privatise the TNEB limited and its subsidiaries. The State government should initiate steps to control the spiralling prices of essential commodities.
