MADURAI: The Yadava College here has been reaccredited with ‘A' Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore, for a further period of five years from this month. H.A.Ranganath, Director, NAAC, has sent an official communication to the college a few days back informing the outcome of reaccreditation exercise by a peer team. K.P. Navaneethakrishnan, Secretary and Correspondent, Yadava College, and K. Kannan, Principal, in a press release on Wednesday said an expert team from the NAAC had analysed the vital components such as curriculum, teaching and learning, research, extension, student support, infrastructure and administration of the college. “The expert committee verified the Internal Quality Assessment Report of our college to assess the progress made in the past five years. Intake of boys and girls in admissions, their economic background, qualification of teachers, educational background of parents, first learners' data, placement opportunities created for students and capacity building programmes were also assessed,” the Principal said. With a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a four-point scale, the Yadava College was given the grade from January 8 this year, the NAAC Director's letter said. Original certificate of accreditation with quality profile will be presented to the college during the NAAC Accreditation Awards Ceremony.
