VISAKHAPATNAM: The Sub Regional Office of Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has appealed to all EPF members to either go for settlement of their ‘inoperative accounts' or seek a transfer to the present account number. Regional PF Commissioner Ajeet Kumar said that whenever there were no EPF contributions received in the PF Account of a member for 36 months or more it would be categorised as ‘inoperative' and no interest would be allowed in respect of such account. The members should either apply for settlement of their PF account at the earliest or seek a transfer of the amount in the old account to their new account. Mr. Ajeet Kumar said that no interest would be credited on ‘inoperative' accounts from April 2011 onwards. He also appealed to all employers and trade unions to create awareness among employees in this regard. Details can be had from the EPFO Sub Regional Office at Marripalem VUDA Layout or on phone no. 0891-2557879.
