Letters to the Editor
The Hindu has spoken for a majority of frustrated citizens saying Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's “ministerial makeover is a case study in timidity and pointlessness” (editorial, Jan. 21). In today's political set-up, where regional parties have a say in government formation, the leader of the coalition should be able to command respect and assert himself. The much awaited reshuffle resembles the routine transfer orders issued to civil and administrative officers. P.G. Krishnamachary, Chennai The editorial and the cartoon have together told us what the reshuffle exercise is all about. The “exercise in musical chairs,” in the context of the mega scams, has not particularly helped to strengthen Dr. Singh's charisma. We look forward to another major reshuffle soon. P. Andrew Valsan, Nagercoil
