“Karunanidhi didn't raise key issues with the Centre”

Special Correspondent

Jayalalithaa

CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa on Friday said that the State could not get justice in inter-State river disputes and the Centre did not prevent the killing of Tamils in Sri Lanka because Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi failed to raise these issues with the Union government.

Recalling Mr. Karunanidhi's statement that “whenever I make a request to the Congress, the Congress leadership initially hesitates, but later it accedes,” she said by his own admission, the Congress leadership would have agreed to fulfil his demands, however reluctant it might have been.
