Murray shows his funny side

MELBOURNE: Andy Murray comes across as dull and humourless as he focuses on winning his maiden Grand Slam, but he has revealed he used to get his laughs from Scottish comedian Billy Connolly.

Connolly was a guest in the players' box on Monday as the Scottish World No. 5 took apart Austrian Jurgen Melzer in straight sets to reach the quarterfinals at the Australian Open.

Murray said he had never before met the popular 68-year-old comedian-actor, known as ‘The Big Yin', but was a fan, going back to his early teens in Scotland.

“We used to listen to it all the time, from maybe like 10, 11 years old until I was upto 15, 16.” — AFP
