Waiting hall, water booth inaugurated

CHENNAI: A waiting hall and a water booth were commissioned at the Government General Hospital here on Wednesday.
The hall has come up on a vacant plot that housed the old outpatients' block. The hospital receives around 10,000 patients every day in its outpatient block.
The water booth will provide hot and cold water for the patients.
The booth will function between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. initially, hospital superintendent C. Veni said.
The hall and the water booth were sponsored by Marudakesari Seva Samithi Trust, who will also deploy three persons to maintain the water booth. Health Minister M.R.K. Panneerselvam and Principal Secretary, Health, V.K. Subburaj participated in the function.
