Unique spelling bee held

BANGALORE: Sahasra Deepika International for Education, Bangalore, in cooperation with Sahasra Deepika Foundation for Education Inc. (USA) held the second annual spelling bee (in English) for underprivileged class 9 students here on Saturday.
As many as 120 contestants from 13 high schools participated in the finals at Hombegowda High School. All of them were from under-served Kannada-medium government schools.
Shilpa V. from Honnaganahatti High School won the first prize, while Megha S. from the same school shared the second prize with Yamuna of Sarakki High School. Sandhya H. from the school won the third prize.
