Somasekhara Commission report burnt

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Activists belonging to the Religious Christian Minority Wing of the Janata Dal (Secular) burnt a copy of the B.K. Somasekhara Commission report on church attacks here on Saturday.

Criticising the report as being “biased” in favour of the sangh parivar and the BJP, the activists demanded that a CBI probe be conducted into the attacks.

In a release, president of the minority wing Solomon Raju charged that the commission report had denied justice to Christians of the State. In his own interim report, Mr. Somasekhara held the sangh parivar, BJP and the State police responsible for the attacks, Mr. Raju said. “But now, all of a sudden, Mr. Somasekhara has given a clean chit to all of them,” he said.
