VIZIANAGARAM: At the Rachabanda programme held at Korukonda village in Vizianagaram mandal on Saturday, Collector M. Veerabrahmaiah said that new ration cards were now being given to those not having ration cards at all, additions and deletions of names of family members and divisions in families after children's marriages during the last five years.

The new ration cards would be issued in the next four months.

Further, he said that old-age pensions would be given to those above 65 years of age, widow pensions to above 18 years of age, who lost their husbands, and pensions for the physically-challenged persons with 40 per cent disability.

Mandal parishad president S. Annaoorna appealed to the Collector to take action on representations submitted at Rachabanda and Praja Patham programmes in the past.
