Hyderabad posts win

HYDERABAD: A fine knock by Mamata Kanojia (46, 40 balls) and a good spell by medium-pacer Ananya Upendran (three for 18) helped Hyderabad record a six-run win over Delhi in the first round of the all-India women's T-20 cricket tournament in Jaipur, according to information received here.

Batting first, Hyderabad scored 130 for three with Mamata and Nidhi Torvi (32, 27 balls) being the top scorers.

In reply, Delhi faltered, despite a fine knock by Reema Malhotra (55, 43 balls).

The scores: Hyderabad 130 for three in 20 overs (Diana David 32, Mamata Kanojia 46) bt Delhi 124 (Reema Malhotra 55, Ananya Upendran three for 18) .

Ashish scores century

At Visakhapatnam, Ashish Kumar Gour scored a century in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant's 93-run win over Sports XI in VDCA's second division cricket on Saturday.

The scores: Visakhapatnam Steel Plant 299 for eight in 47 overs (Ashish Kumar Gour 126, D. Adinarayana 60, N. Satyanarayana 30, D.R. Srinivas 25, N. Rajesh four for 93, Sailu three for 69) bt Sports XI 206 in 37 overs (N. Rajesh 47, Sailu 41, Pavan Kumar 40, Ch. Srinivas four for 42) .
