Three held in fake notes seizure

BANGALORE: Three men attempting to circulate fake thousand-rupee currency notes with a face value of Rs. 1.11 lakh were arrested by the J.J. Nagar Police here on Saturday. The notes that Shankar Reddy (37) of Hebbal, Jagadeesh of Begur and Nagaraj (36) of Medahalli were trying to circulate are suspected to have been sourced from Secunderabad, said Deputy Commissioner of Police S.N. Siddappa.
Road death
Ramchandrappa (42), a painter, was killed on the spot after he was knocked down by a speeding cargo vehicle on National Highway 4 near Manjunathanagar Junction early Saturday.
He was trying to cross the busy highway on his way to work.
The driver was arrested.
Body recovered
The body of Sandesh (17), who drowned in the Hebbal Lake where he had gone for a swim along with 10 of his friends on Friday, was located by personnel of the Fire and Emergency Services Department early on Saturday.
