Pay revision for typists, assistants

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government has revised the pay for junior assistants, typists, assistants and shorthand typists.
The Tamil Nadu Revenue Officials Union had announced that it would go on an indefinite strike from February 1 in support of its demands. Following this, talks were held on Friday and Saturday.
As per the agreement, the basic pay of junior assistants and typists would be increased from Rs.2,000 to Rs.2,400 and for assistants and shorthand-typists grade III from Rs.2,400 to Rs.2,800. It was also decided to give a monthly special pay of Rs.500 to Deputy Tahsildars and Rs.1,000 to Tahsildars. The revised pay will be effective from February 1.
The union office-bearers met Chief Minister, M.Karunanidhi and thanked him.
