Chennai: S. Radhakrishnan (handicap 0 to 12) and S. Laxminarayanan (13-28) emerged triumphant in ‘A' and ‘B' categories of the BMW Golf Cup International at the Cosmo-TNGF Course, here on Saturday. The winners of the competition held across nine cities — Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore — will take part in the National final at Gurgaon later this year. The finalists will qualify for the World final. D. Nagraj finished runner-up in category ‘A' and Ravi Krishnan took the second place in category ‘B'. Famous film director Mani Ratnam claimed the prize for the straightest drive. Andreas Schaaf, President, BMW India, said on the occasion, “It is with great pride that we officially introduce BMW Golf Cup International 2011 in India. The world of amateur golf in India is witnessing progressive development.” The results: Men: Category ‘A' (handicap 0-12): 1. S. Radhakrishnan; 2. D. Nagaraj; 3. Samir Mapillai. Category ‘B' (handicap 13-28): 1. S. Laxminarayanan; 2. Ravi Krishnan; 3. Irfan Sherif. Straightest drive: Mani Ratnam. Closest to the pin: C.M. Thiagarajan .
